Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position in a surgical unit requiring a SC or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Operating Room (OR) within a hospital surgical unit
- 15-bed unit specializing in general, trauma, and orthopedic surgical cases
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 during surgical procedures
- Shifts are 12 hours, with typical shift times from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
- One on-call shift required per week
- Weekend shifts required once every six weeks
- Floating to other units as needed within own skill set
- Uses Cerner for charting; prior experience preferred
- Primary responsibilities include circulating and assisting with general, trauma, and orthopedic surgical procedures
- Scrub color requirement is navy blue
- Team-oriented environment focusing on high-quality patient care in the OR
- Annual and initial CMS Medicare Parts C and D Fraud, Waste & Abuse and General Compliance Training required
- Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Travelers who have worked two prior assignments with the facility must observe a 12-month break before returning
- Candidates must be eligible for return if previously employed at a Tenet facility
Requirements
- Current SC or compact RN license required
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Strong experience in general OR with trauma and/or orthopedic surgery experience preferred
- Proof of COVID-19 and Flu vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions considered
