Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery role requiring a NM or compact RN license and competency in women's and newborn care.
Responsibilities
- Position is located in a hospital women's care unit specializing in Labor & Delivery, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
- Night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30 with three 12-hour shifts per week
- Requires weekend and call coverage as needed
- Floating to departments or locations within a 20-mile range is required
- EPIC EMR is used and on-site training can be provided
- Responsibilities include antepartum assessment, obstetric triage, labor and fetal evaluation, administering medications, preparing for delivery, and both routine and critical newborn care
- Must be able to float to departments or locations within a 20-mile radius as needed
- Holiday coverage may be required based on departmental needs
- Return perm staff must wait one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- No local candidates permitted; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- Charge nurse and preceptor experience is preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required
- Minimum of two years current Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
- Current BLS (AHA, American Health and Safety, or Red Cross accepted), NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications required
- Must successfully pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing during the first week of assignment
- EPIC experience preferred but not required
