The Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated, creative, team-orientated individual for a full-time, calendar year, appointment stream faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The successful applicant will have their primary efforts focused on providing comprehensive pharmacy services and patient care for patients on the Internal Medicine service at UPMC Presbyterian University Hospital.
Experience with medication protocol development, direct patient care in acute internal medicine practice, and patient focused research or scholarship is expected. The incumbent is also expected to support the professional curriculum, including large and small classroom teaching with active learning techniques such as simulation learning and other techniques. The faculty member will also serve as a preceptor for students, residents, and other trainees. The ideal candidate will have a PharmD degree and a minimum of two years of experience in general medicine, internal medicine, pharmacotherapy or geriatrics; and residency and/or fellowship training. Board certification is highly desired. Other qualifications and experiences will be considered. Applicants must be licensed to practice Pharmacy in Pennsylvania to begin this position. The candidate must comply with the operating procedures of the school and hospital practice site. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
