Responsibilities The Learning Systems Institute at Florida State University seeks a highly motivated and effective Project Manager to work with a fast-paced team to conduct innovative and important research in STEM education.
Responsibilities: - All the many aspects of project management for a large, grant-funded project;
- Assist the principal investigator with conforming to all responsible, ethical, and legal requirements related to the conduct of research with human subjects;
- Monitor project personnel, deliverables, and procedures, including the data management plan;
- Create and monitor project workflow;
- Develop bi-annual reports for the funding agency;
- Assist principal investigator in planning and implementation of the workflow for data management (planning, collection, cleaning, and related documentation) and analysis;
- Communication with research partners and participants;
- Contribute to publications in refereed and other outlets;
- Meet with senior project personnel weekly and additionally as-needed;
- Occasional travel for project meetings, presentations, and related events;
- Other duties as assigned and required to deliver successful project.
Qualifications - Ph.D. in mathematics or statistics education or related area.
- Experience using FileMaker for creating data entry systems and maintaining records.
- Experience using Qualtrics for large-scale data collection.
- Experience authoring or co-authoring manuscripts published in top-ranked, peer-reviewed journals in education, psychology, or educational measurement.
- Demonstrated knowledge and interest in research transparency, reproducibility, and open science.
- Ability to travel as required, estimated 3-4 trips per year.
Preferred Qualifications - Leadership experience in large-scale, ambitious educational research studies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Awareness of legal and ethical obligations related to research with human subjects and educational records.
- Ability to work on a fast-paced team and lead individual projects with small teams.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge and experience using workflow management tools for research involving human-subjects data.
- Proficiency in the R programming language.
- Experience and skill in creating data dictionaries, codebooks, and directory structures for data management.
- Experience and skill in data management and sharing of education-related data, including for the purpose of integrative data analysis.
- Experience in disseminating results of research findings to stakeholders in education and educational research.
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to doing the work that must be done on schedule.

Anticipated Salary Range The anticipated starting salary for this position is $85,000, commensurate with experience and education.
