Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-volume Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring a VA or compact RN license and ACLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Cardiac Cath Lab with high volume and high acuity patients
- Unit consists of three newly renovated labs handling 12-18 cases per day, including STEMI cases
- Schedule consists of four 10-hour day shifts from 7:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday, with on-call requirements for weekends and holidays
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:6
- Floating within scope may be required to medical or emergency departments based on hospital needs
- Uses EPIC and XPER documentation systems with EPIC experience preferred
- Involves procedures including TAVR, Watchman, CardioMEMS, carotids, Impella, CTO, peripherals, TEVAR/EVAR, and STEMI
- Daily duties include circulating and monitoring for cath lab procedures
- Team-oriented work environment with a focus on collaboration and patient safety
- Scrubs are provided for staff
- All staff are required to complete up to 8 hours of training modules within one week after accepting assignment
- Holiday shift coverage is required
- Return staff must have a one-year break before being eligible to return as a traveler
- First-time travelers are accepted for this role
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Block scheduling and RTO (requested time off) are at the manager's discretion
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum of one year cardiac or critical care nursing experience required
- Experience in cardiac cath lab and/or interventional radiology preferred
