Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a KY or compact RN license and strong L&D or LDRP experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit
Handles approximately 700-800 deliveries per year
Patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
Two on-call shifts required within each 6-week scheduling period
Must be able to circulate during procedures
Provides patient-centered care for women and newborns throughout pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and related women's health issues
Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team to conduct assessments, develop care plans, provide education, and advocate for patients and families
May perform both inpatient and outpatient obstetric nursing duties
Must participate in ongoing quality and safety improvement initiatives
Epic EMR experience is preferred but not required
Must be able to educate and support families during labor, delivery, and postpartum care

Requirements

Active KY or compact RN license required
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN
Minimum of one year RN experience required
Strong L&D or LDRP experience preferred
Must pass an EKG exam on first day, with two attempts allowed
Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted
