Labor & Delivery RN Job Details
- Location: Lynchburg, VA 24503 (Virginia nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (9/22/2025 – 12/20/2025)
- Shift: 12-hour nights; every other weekend required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1880 - $2020
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing (Registered Nurse contract)
- Unit: Labor & Delivery
- Float Required: No
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Virginia or Compact RN license (Registered Nurse license)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification or equivalent)
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- All requested time off must be submitted with application
- COVID/Flu vaccine declinations accepted with approved documentation
- Locals within 60 miles are not eligible
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a busy Labor & Delivery unit
- Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs; respond promptly to clinical changes
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the labor and delivery process
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner EMR
- Support a positive learning environment for students and new hires
- Comply with hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards
