Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details – Springfield, Illinois
- Location: Springfield, IL 62769
- Position: Travel Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)
- Unit: Cardiac Intensive Care (CVICU/Cardiac Stepdown)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Start Date: January 19, 2026
- End Date: March 15, 2026
- Assignment Duration: 8 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (NOC), every other weekend
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2200 - $2360
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, CVICU, or ICU nursing jobs
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
- Strong clinical skills in cardiac care and post-surgical ICU patient management
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac open heart surgeries and those in the Medical/Surgical ICU
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using advanced cardiac monitoring equipment
- Administer medications and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Respond promptly to changes in patient status and provide critical care interventions
- Educate patients and families on post-operative cardiac care and recovery processes
