Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or compact state
- At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, NIHSS, COVID-19 Vaccine
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to mothers and newborns in the Labor & Delivery unit
- Monitor, assess, and support patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately document patient care using Allscripts - Sunrise electronic health record system
- Respond to medical emergencies and follow trauma protocols as required
- Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn health, and recovery
