Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Tacoma, WA 98405 (Washington healthcare jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery
- Unit: Birth Center – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 1/31/2026)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,350 - $2,520
- Orientation: Comprehensive hospital and unit orientation
- Scrubs: Provided by facility
- Parking: Free badge-access parking in designated areas
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Washington RN license preferred for local candidates)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (travel nursing experience preferred; 5+ years ideal)
- BLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN) certifications required
- High-acuity L&D experience, including labor management and care of high-risk obstetric patients
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR)
- Ability to circulate in the OR and perform cervical checks
- Skilled in reading and interpreting fetal monitoring strips
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients in a high-volume, high-acuity Birth Center (up to 300 deliveries/month)
- Manage patients with complex conditions such as hypertension, preterm labor, C-sections, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
- Perform triage of obstetric patients and provide robust antepartum care
- Circulate in the OR for C-sections and assist with vaginal deliveries and labor inductions
- Recover birthing patients and newborns post-delivery, ensuring safe transition and recovery
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, scrub techs, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and physicians
- Float within Labor & Delivery, antepartum, and postpartum units as needed (based on experience and scope of practice)
- Accurately document patient care and interventions in EPIC EMR
- Participate in self-scheduling and adhere to fair weekend and holiday rotation policies
