Job Description LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company, is seeking a
Systems and User Documentation Specialist (Onsite) with technical expertise and Enterprise Information Display System (E-IDS) knowledge and experience to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The Systems and User Documentation Specialist is responsible for managing the creation, updating, and implementation of comprehensive documentation and standards for both technical and end-user audiences. This role ensures that all system, software, user, training, and maintenance documentation is accurate, clear, and compliant with FAA and industry standards. The specialist will collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to support operational excellence and facilitate effective training and communication across the organization.
Responsibilities - Manage the creation, updating, and implementation of procedures, system documentation, and standards, including SOPs, coding standards, version control, and testing methodologies.
- Develop and maintain user manuals, training guides, maintenance documentation, and operational engineering packages.
- Document code review processes, software deployment and release plans, configuration control, and management.
- Define and document testing methodology, product acceptance criteria, system tolerances, and procedural guidelines for testing, operations, and repairs.
- Update documentation to reflect system changes, upgrades, and new features.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation.
- Support the development and delivery of training materials and sessions for end users and maintenance staff.
- Coordinate and participate in the development of briefing slides and materials for presentations to FAA management.
- Ensure all documentation is accessible, user-friendly, and compliant with FAA standards.
Education - Bachelor's degree in information systems, business systems, management information system, other IT degrees with 8+ years of experience is required.
Qualifications - Experience in technical writing and documentation for complex systems and software, as well as user and maintenance documentation.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle, coding standards, version control systems, and configuration management.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, understandable language for diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with training development and delivery methods.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills, including experience preparing materials for executive-level presentations.
- Attention to detail and commitment to documentation quality and accuracy.
- Knowledge of FAA documentation standards and requirements is preferred.
- Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to interface with engineering, operations, and program stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, facilitation, and management skills, written and oral communication skills, and analytical skills.

- Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds may be required during installations or maintenance.
- Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms.
- Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision.
- Sitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues.
- Background check: Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

Compensation (Pay Bands) Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time, 40-hour/week status. Part-time staff receive compensation at an hourly rate. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represent the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and are just one component of the LST's total compensation package for employees. ** In compliance with local laws, LS Technologies presents this reasonable compensation range as a guideline for roles in California, Colorado, New York, or Washington D.C."
