JOB TITLE: Coordinator of Nutrition Compliance REPORTS TO: Director of Nutrition LOCATION: Worcester Public Schools, Worcester, Massachusetts Summary: The District Compliance Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of compliance for the district's nutrition programs. This role ensures the effective oversight of all USDA Nutrition Program compliance including meal counting and claiming, menu compliance, develops and delivers comprehensive training programs for all nutrition personnel to maintain program compliance, and works to maximize federal and state meal reimbursement while maintaining program integrity. This role is critical in developing standard operating procedures to ensure daily operations are maintaining all USDA guidelines. Key Responsibilities: 1. Compliance and Reimbursement Oversight: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust compliance plan to ensure adherence to all federal (USDA), state, and local regulations governing the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), and other child nutrition programs. Lead and manage the DESE compliance annual requirements, including the oversight of direct certification, community eligibility provision, evaluate student participation in meal programs, training, and point-of-sale data to ensure accuracy and prevent fraud. In collaboration with the quadrant coordinators, conduct regular, district-wide audits of point of sale locations and review administrative records to proactively identify and correct potential compliance issues. Establish standard operating procedures to maintain program compliance in the daily operations. Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits and state agency reviews. 2. Training and Professional Development: Design, develop, and deliver effective training programs for all levels of food service staff-from quadrant coordinators to frontline personnel-on topics including USDA regulations, meal counting procedures, food safety, point of sale requirements, civil rights, nutrition, and customer service. Oversee platform that manages and tracks employee training and development requirements and expiration dates. Manage the district's professional development calendar and ensure all staff meet annual training hour requirements. Develop and maintain training materials, including handbooks, presentations, and online modules. 3. Personnel Management: Collaborate with quadrant coordinators, supervisors and school-based managers to address performance issues related to compliance and operational standards. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to foster a culture of accountability and excellence. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field is required. Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in K-12 school food service, with at least 1-2 years focused specifically on compliance, USDA regulations, and program management. Expert knowledge of USDA regulations (NSLP, SBP). Strong leadership, public speaking, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills. Proficiency with food service software, data analysis, and reporting. Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to travel within the district as necessary. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field. Experience with Mosaic Heartland Software. Experience with Workday Enterprise Management Software. Experience with collective bargaining agreements. This is a full-time, twelve-month professional position that may require work at times outside of regular work hours to perform responsibilities. Hours required are typically 8:30-4:30pm. Salary Range: $110,947 - $114,837
