Compensation Package
Hourly Breakdown:
- Total Pay Rate: $51.83/hr
- W2 (Taxable): $18.00/hr
- Stipend (Non-Taxable): $33.83/hr
Weekly Breakdown:
- Gross Weekly Pay: $1,866.00
- W2 (Taxable): $648.00
- Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,218.00

Job Description
The Stepdown RN delivers specialized care to patients requiring close monitoring and intermediate support. Responsibilities include:
- Managing patients with cardiac, neuro, and post-surgical conditions.
- Caring for ventilated patients, chest tubes, and tracheostomies.
- Performing IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and phlebotomy.
- Monitoring cardiac rhythms, dysrhythmias, and using rapid response/code teams.
- Supporting patients with stroke, seizure disorders, craniotomy, and traumatic brain injuries.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care.
Patient Ratios: 1:4 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
Unit Type: Stepdown / PCU / IMC
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year Stepdown/PCU experience
- Travel experience required
- First-time travelers not accepted
Education & Licenses:
- Current RN License (SC or Compact, must be active before start)
- ACLS & BLS required
- NIHSS preferred
Skills:
- IV therapy, central/arterial line care, blood product administration
- Ventilator management, HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP
- Cardiac monitoring, post-cardiac surgery care
- Wound care, feeding tube management, insulin drip protocols
Charting System: Epic
Scheduling & Orientation
- Orientation: 16–24 hours (Non-Billable)
- Weekends: Every other weekend required
- Holidays: Holiday rotation
- Floating: Yes, within facility scope
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Pre-Approved Time Off: 1 request allowed
