Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Illinois requiring night shifts, recent EPIC experience, and an active IL RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital
- Provide care to medical-surgical patients, with specialization in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols
- Patient ratios are 1:5-6
- Shift schedule is 12-hour nights (18:45 to 07:15), three shifts per week
- Weekend work is required every other weekend
- On-call is required
- Floating required to other MS/Tele floors within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Uses EPIC for charting; prior EPIC experience required
- Care for surgical patients following ERAS protocols and order sets
- Must be able to float across units and between affiliated hospitals within scope of practice
- Permanent employees must wait at least one year before returning as travelers
- No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off approved during first week
- Compliance modules must be completed prior to start
- Fit testing required; facial hair must comply with fit testing policy
- Free parking is available on-site

Requirements
- Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
- First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of relevant experience
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- Prior experience with EPIC EMR required
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
- References from two supervisory positions within the last two years may be required
- No pending license candidates will be considered
