Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics night position requiring a ME or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Med/Surg Orthopedics unit of a hospital setting
- Night shifts with 4 x 12-hour shifts weekly (7p-7a), totaling 48 hours per week
- Covers medical, surgical, and post-surgical patients
- Patient care involves IV medication administration, IV therapy, and blood product administration
- Required to be available to work every other weekend as needed
- The RN is responsible for both direct and indirect patient care throughout the patient stay
- Team-focused environment involving collaboration with caregivers and multidisciplinary staff
- Expected to participate in the assessment, planning, and reassessment of care plans
- Holiday coverage may be required for major holidays observed by the facility
- A fifty (50) mile radius rule applies for eligibility
- RNs may only work two consecutive 13-week assignments per year at the facility and must take a minimum 26-week break before returning
Requirements
- Active ME RN license or compact state RN license required
- Current BLS certification is required
- At least 1 year of nursing experience preferred
- Must not have previous employment at St. Mary's
- Competency in the application of restraints and care of patients in restraint or seclusion must be validated
- Candidates with actions on license or background check issues will not be considered
