Job Responsibilities - Provide contracted accounting support for funds and their affiliates:
- Upload all cash activity to the appropriate fund entity
- Book all accruals for the reporting period
- Build and maintain support workpapers
- Prepare period end financials for the client
- Properly allocate income and expenses to investors
- Correctly calculate management fees on a period-by-period basis, considering any side letter instructions
- Correctly calculate carry accrual on a period-by-period basis, considering any side letter instructions
- Prepare period-end capital statements for the client and/or investors
- Prepare or update year-end financial statement footnotes for the client
- Manage, develop and oversee staff accountants
- Maintain consistent communication with the client
- Communicate with investors when appropriate
- Communicate with 3rd party vendors when necessary
- Communicate with other client departments when necessary
- Provide capital call and distribution services:
- Obtain call or distribution amounts from client and discuss any nuances related to the specific call
- Properly allocate call and/or distribution balances to investors
- Determine expenses to be called and properly allocate to investors
- Book all capital calls and distributions to system
- Prepare and provide capital call notices and/or distribution notices to the client or investors
- Track capital call receipts and inform client of any variances to timing of receipt or amount of receipt
- Provide audit, tax, marketing and due diligence support.
- Provide adhoc reports to client when requested.
- Dedicated to meeting project deadlines.
- Planning, implementing and documenting all processes and procedures, building efficiencies into the process where able.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fund administration, fund accounting, or public accounting (audit/assurance of investment funds)
- Demonstrated knowledge of private equity and/or venture capital fund structures (e.g., capital calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest)
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact directly with clients and auditors
- Flexibility to work from home while collaborating in person half the time.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience reviewing staff-prepared work or supervising junior team members
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA
- Experience preparing financial statements and investor notices
- Familiarity with fund accounting systems, such as Investran
- Knowledge of alternative investments and fund reporting requirements

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Colorado residents, the compensation range for this position: $77,700-$101,100. For Washington residents, Illinois residents, New York residents, and Southern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $85, 400-$111,200. For Northern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $89,300-$116,300. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
