Provide professional nursing care in the Emergency Room using critical thinking, independent judgment, and the full nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation). Supervise and direct patient care teams, collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, and ensure safe, high-quality patient care. Duties include documenting patient conditions and responses, conducting assessments, developing care plans, educating patients/families, and using EMR (Cerner). Nurses are expected to participate in performance improvement activities, comply with infection prevention standards, and follow ANA Code of Ethics and Michigan nursing laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and update care plans.
- Provide and direct nursing care, monitor outcomes, and adjust as needed.
- Educate patients and families on care, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Utilize evidence-based practices, policies, and standards of care.
- Document patient conditions, treatments, and progress in Cerner EMR.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in continuous professional development and competency training.
- Support unit-based performance improvement and participate in staff meetings.Ax
