RN Position Job Notes:
Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:
• Work in 40-bed Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPC)
• Maintain 1:5 patient ratio with primary focus on CV surgery and vascular surgery patients
• Care for patients following open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy), esophagogastrectomy, AAA repairs, fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomies
• Also receive overflow medical cardiology patients with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block
• Perform epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander, and cardiac drip management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine)
• Use Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts
• Electronic medical records system: Cerner
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Must have stepdown and telemetry experience
• Preferred: CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience, CVICU experience
• Float to any stepdown units (1:5 ratios), medical/surgical units (1:6-7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekend requirement: minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6-week schedule period
• Dress code: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
• Must be team player, enjoy fast-paced environment, and be flexible
