Responsibilities for this Position General Dynamics Mission Systems has an opening for a Senior Advanced Contracts Specialist in Dedham, MA.
Duties and Tasks: - A senior level advanced position in contract management
- Administers contracts and monitors contract performance
- Acts as focal point for all contractual communications and commitments to customers
- Maintains documentation and files in accordance with applicable processes
- Assures compliance with applicable federal regulations and internal policies and procedures
- Participates as a key member of the proposal or program team to address contract requirements.
- Collaborates with the Capture/Proposal/Program Manager, to support overall contract performance
- Reviews Requests for Proposals and participates in preparing compliant proposal responses
- Negotiates contracts or subcontracts within business goals and documents substance of discussions, agreements, and results; Negotiates terms and conditions including estimated cost/price, delivery, quality, and performance requirements
- Reviews contract documents for accuracy, performance risk, and conformance with contract terms, conditions, and other provisions including applicable federal regulations and business team objectives prior to signature / acceptance
- Collaborates as a key member of program team to ensure contract requirements are fully understood and executed
- Responds to internal and external inquiries regarding contract issues, audits, and compliance requirements
- Manages contract change process and works with the Program Manager, Engineering, Finance, and other disciplines to mitigate performance risk
- Advises and supports business team on issues / developments relative to assigned contracts
- Monitors program performance for scope changes and takes appropriate action
- Builds customerrelationships and knows customer needs and issues
- Supports an overall understanding of the Contracts Department operations and GDMS enterprise objectives
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Has wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve detailed issues in effective ways
- Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
- Demonstrates creative, innovative approaches and solutions to contract or subcontract issues and problems utilizing very strong decision-making skills
- Excellent ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle more detailed problems
- Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment
- Demonstrates excellent knowledge of applicable federal regulations (FAR/DFARS) and contracting experience with prime contractors as well as all contract types. Strong knowledge of Government Data Rights and Intellectual Property protection.
- Has experience reviewing and analyzing contract or subcontract documents for accuracy, performance risk, and conformance with contract terms, conditions, and other provisions
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with personnel at all levels
- Demonstrates excellent strong analytical/critical thinking skills
- Possesses an excellent attention to detail and research skills
- Is able to prioritize/re-prioritize with changing goals
- Collaborates and works effectively cross-functionally throughout the business
- Possesses excellent computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office) to support effective communications and business needs
