Delaware North Travel is hiring a full-time Food Prep and Cashier to join our team at Detroit Airport in Detroit, Michigan. On July 10, 2025, Delaware North announced its US-based Travel Hospitality Services (THS) business will be sold to Areas, a global leader in travel dining and retail. The sale is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2025. Upon completion of the sale, all THS team members will become part of the Areas. Areas will operate 369 locations in 27 airports and 12 travel plazas nationwide, with a U.S. workforce of over 6,000. What will you do?
- Prepare food to specifications before and during unit operations, complying with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures, and label, date, and wrap food products in accordance with ServSafe procedures
- Communicate with the chef for any instructions or training
- Uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations and follow all safety, security, and kitchen procedures
- Maintains food, utensils, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties and end-of-day inventory in accordance with guidelines
More about you
- Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and follow instructions
- Capacity to use kitchen tools safely, including knives and small equipment ware
Physical requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more, as well as stand and bend for long periods of time
- Manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids, and operate kitchen equipment
- Exposed to variable temperatures
