What will you do?
- Performs opening, closing and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines.
- Properly measures, portions, and prepares all food items per standards.
- Maintains food, utensils and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
- Follows and upholds all health codes and sanitation regulations.
- Communicates with chef for any special instructions or training.
More about you
- Prior food preparation experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and basic math skills to portion and measure ingredients.
- Ability to use knives and kitchen tools safely and efficiently.
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively to work independently and in a team.
Physical requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach for entire length of shift.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to grasp objects, chop, mix, blend, whip etc. a variety of foods and liquids.
- Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders while working in a hot and damp kitchen environment.
- Exposure to kitchen dangers such as cuts, scrapes, burns, scalds, slips and falls.
- Use of and exposure to chemicals required to clean and sanitize areas, surfaces and equipment.
