Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position in an acute care setting, requiring a WA or compact RN license and strong cardiac and dialysis experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Med/Surg and Telemetry Float Pool within an acute care hospital setting
- Patient population includes heart dysrhythmias, GI issues, dialysis, and general medical cases
- 34-bed unit with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
- Telemetry monitoring with EKG techs handling all readings
- Required to float to Tele units and potentially to other hospitals within Region I as needed
- 12-hour shifts with centralized scheduling; day and night shifts available
- Weekend work is required every other weekend
- Holiday coverage is required
- EpicCare Inpatient EMR system is used
- Must be prepared to float as needed within the region to designated facilities
- Charge nurses and nurse aides support the unit
- Unit orientation is provided over 1-2 days
- Professional scrubs in any color are acceptable
- Preference given to those with prior PCU/ICU experience
- Returning candidates must not have worked for a CommonSpirit facility (including CHI/Dignity) in the past year
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum two years of relevant acute care experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications through AHA
- Strong experience with dialysis patients, cardiac skills, and telemetry is required
- Ability to titrate low dose dopamine drips as needed
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years
