Neurosurgical ICU Travel Nurse
Location

Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
This role requires a night shift schedule, consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15. Flexibility to rotate between day and night shifts may be beneficial, along with availability on weekends and holidays as needed.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU), with extensive experience in managing patients with various neurological conditions. The NSICU is a 10-bed unit that provides care to critically ill stroke patients and those undergoing non-traumatic neurosurgery. Responsibilities will include monitoring patients for changes in condition, administering treatments, and providing post-operative care.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care for critically ill neurological patients, including stroke and surgical cases.
- Monitor and manage external ventricular drains (EVD) and intracranial pressure (ICP).
- Administer continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and manage ventilated patients.
- Oversee care post angiogram and other neuro-endovascular procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Neuro ICU setting.
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
- Epic charting experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with trauma care and medical overflow cases is advantageous.
