Tell us about the unit(s): Primary patient population is CV surgery and vascular surgery to include open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR
these skills will be considered first.
· Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass) within a year
· CVICU experience
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
· Epidural management
· Chest tube management
· Tube feedings
· IV gluccomander
· Cardiac gtt management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine)

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
· ACLS, BLS, NIH
Floating Area(s):
· Any SD (1:5 ratios) or MS (1:6-7 ratios) unit, ER inpatient holding area (1:6).
Dress Code :
· Scrub Color/Attire – All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white.

Weekends and On call (if any)
· No call.
· Weekend requirements minimum – 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6 week schedule period.
· Flexible to work Holiday
, Bentall, TAVR, etc), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy, etc.), esophagogastrectomy, AAA (open and endovascular), fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomies. We also receive overflow medical cardiology patients with diagnoses of heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block, etc.
· Number of Beds – 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds
· Number of Staff – approximately 100 total
· Type of staff:
o Day Shift – 1 charge RN (routinely out of staffing), 13 RN’s, 4 PCT’s, 1.33 HUC
o Night Shift – 1 charge RN (routinely out of staffing), 13 RN’s, 4 PCT’s, 0.33 HUC
· Patient Ratios – 1:5 patients per RN, 1:13 for PCT’s
· Type of equipment – Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts
· EMR - Cerner
Must have : candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

· Telemetry experience
