Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Medical/Surgical Telemetry Nurse to join our resource float pool, with responsibilities that include caring for patients in the Med/Surg Oncology, Ortho, and Urology units. The nurse will also provide support for emergency department hold patients as required.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to a designated group of patients.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, report changes, and implement interventions.
- Administer medications and manage IV infusions as per protocols.
- Perform specialized procedures including bladder scans and glucose monitoring.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a telemetry or related specialty.
- AHA BLS certification is required; CMSRN preferred.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification is required prior to starting.
- New York State nursing license or proof of application is necessary.
