Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery night shift assignment, requiring a MD or compact RN license and current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NCC C-EFM.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital
- Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, 19:00 to 7:30
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required as assigned
- Floating required within the specialty and to Mother/Baby unit as needed
- No on-call is required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must be comfortable floating within their scope of experience
- Return travelers must have been away from the system for at least 6 months; former staff must be gone for 12 months before returning as travelers
- Requests for time off must be submitted up front and cannot be changed after offer
- Block scheduling or scheduling restrictions cannot be guaranteed
- Modules are required and are considered non-billable
- One contract extension is typically allowed, followed by a 6-month break before returning
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NCC C-EFM required
- STABLE, CPI, and NIH certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience required; 2 years preferred
- Two satisfactory professional references from most recent employers, with one from a supervisor or manager and one from a charge RN
- Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility
