Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring NC or compact licensure and advanced certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in an LDRP unit with 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR suite, and 1 PACU
- Patient population includes labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:2 for inactive labor, 1:1 for active labor, 1:3-4 for couplets
- Fetal monitoring and specialized equipment such as Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing systems are utilized
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Float to regional facilities within scope of practice, including Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH)
- No on-call responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care through labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
- Support provided by charge nurse 24/7, resource nurse as available, and respiratory therapist and hospitalist available 24/7
- Required to float within the designated region as needed
- Green, hospital-issued scrubs must be worn
- Free parking available
- Up to 6 days off can be approved, excluding holidays; additional time off must be added to the contract
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
- Team-oriented unit culture
- Facility and departmental orientation provided
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience with ability to work in LDRP setting
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP
- Demonstrated skills in labor management, cesarean section circulation, pre-op, PACU, triage, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin and epidural management
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- First-time travelers are not accepted
