Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring circulating experience and a VA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in an LDRP setting with 11 labor rooms, 2 OB ORs, an OB ED/triage area, and an antepartum/women's OBGYN unit
- Average of 200 deliveries per month with both vaginal and cesarean cases
- Typical ratios are 1:1 for active labor and 1:3 for antepartum care
- Utilizes equipment such as GE monitors, warmers, pulse oximetry, and blood glucose meters
- 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and major holiday required
- On-call required for 1-2 shifts every 6 weeks
- Floating within Women's Health departments likely
- Responsibilities include care for patients undergoing vaginal delivery, cesarean section, versions, and cerclages
- Will work alongside a team consisting of 3 RNs and one tech for most shifts
- Must be comfortable floating within Women's Health units as needed
- First day EKG test is not required
- Holiday and every other weekend coverage are required
- Major responsibilities include initial and ongoing patient assessment, care planning, patient/family education, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required, higher acuity experience strongly preferred
- Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
- Fetal monitoring experience required
- No local candidates within a 50-mile radius considered
