Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate within the Cancer Pharmacology at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.
In this role, the Postdoctoral Associate will study the role of mTOR kinase in growth control and anticancer mechanisms. In addition to this focus, the Postdoctoral Associate is expected to establish an innovative, collaborative research program addressing important and fundamental questions. To support this effort, interdisciplinary and translational approaches are encouraged. Qualified candidates must be a recent recipient of a Ph.D. graduate degree or in the process of completing training for a Ph.D. graduate degree, with a strong publication record and a desire to advance to the next stage of their training.
Among the key duties for this position are the following:
- Conducts multidisciplinary research in the area of the role of mTOR kinase in growth control and anticancer mechanisms, including in vitro and in vivo models.
- Prepares written reports of the research experiments.
- Prepares manuscripts and grant proposals based on the research conducted.
- Gives oral presentations of the research.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers's compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Interest policy.
- Acts as a role model for corporate integrity, customer service and improved quality.
FLSA Exempt
Grade Salary Details Minimum salary of $61,805. Higher commensurate with experience.
Minimum Salary 20,000
Mid Range Salary 90,000
Maximum Salary 200,000

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience - Qualified candidates must be in the process of completing or have finished the training for Ph.D. Candidates must provide proof all requirements have been fulfilled before their position start date.
- Experience with cell culture and molecular/cell biology techniques is essential.
- Must have first authored publications in high impact scientific journals.
Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications - Degrees in the field of Biomedical or Life Sciences are preferred.
- Experience with mouse work is a plus.
Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing.
- No special vision requirements.
- Lifting up to 25 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Lab environment with moderate noise.
- Exposure to blood, excrement, antineoplastic drugs and possible exposure to infectious and communicable diseases. Universal precautions are mandatory.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
