Whether your specialty is cardiology or pediatrics, you’ll find that the professionals working with you on the U.S. Army Reserve health care team are at the top of their fields. Benefits include: – Health Professional Special Pay of $75,000 for eligible specialties, paid in three yearly increments of $25,000 – Health Professionals Loan Repayment of up to $250,000 (maximum of $40,000 per year) may be applied toward qualified school loans – Paid continuing education and training – Non-contributory retirement benefits at age 60 with 20 years of qualifying service – Low-cost life and dental insurance – Travel opportunities, including humanitarian missions – Commissary and post exchange shopping privileges – Flexible, portable retirement savings and investment plan similar to a 401(k) – Privileges that come with being an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve – Training to become a leader in your field Requirements include: – Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates – Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico – Eligibility for board certification – Completion of at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship – Completion of a training program in an internal medicine specialty – Between 21 and 42 years of age (may request a waiver) – Permanent U.S. residency Numerous positions are available worldwide in areas such as nuclear medicine, pulmonary disease, gastroenterology, cardiology, allergy studies, clinical immunology, pediatrics, nephrology, endocrinology, rheumatology, clinical pharmacology, internal medicine and psychiatry.
