Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift 20-week contract with Epic charting and a 2-year Med/Surg background required.

Responsibilities

Position is based in a 36-bed Med/Surg/Ortho unit within a hospital setting
Typical patient ratio is 6:1
Patients include Medical/Surgical and Orthopedic cases
Night shift position with 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am
Every other weekend and holidays as needed are required
Floating is required to ED/ICU to care for medical holds only
No on-call or call-back responsibilities
Uses Epic EMR; prior experience with Epic is required
20-week contract assignment
Must be adaptable, resilient, and able to manage change effectively
Team-oriented and social candidates are encouraged
Scrub color requirement is navy blue
COVID-19 vaccine is not required at this time but may be subject to change
Holiday coverage required as scheduled
First time travelers are accepted for this position

Requirements

Active Illinois RN license must be in hand (pending or temporary licenses not accepted)
Current AHA BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
Must be experienced with Epic charting
Strong independent and confident nursing skills are required
Candidates must live more than 40 miles from the facility
