This is an opportunity for a Rural Associate (4-8 PQE) to immerse themselves in high-quality Rural Property work, advising clients who are at the heart of Scotland’s land, estates and communities.

This is more than transactional property work; it’s about advising landowners, estates, rural businesses and developers on matters that preserve heritage, support communities and embrace modern change such as renewable energy projects.
You’ll be welcomed into a supportive and renowned Rural team, recognised for its technical strength, practical advice and long-standing client relationships. The firm is seeking people with a true passion for the Rural sector. While Rural experience is ideal, they are equally open to applications from Real Estate lawyers who can demonstrate a strong interest in building a long-term career in this rewarding practice area.
The Work
- Handle a broad range of Rural property transactions, from sales and purchases to agricultural tenancies, estate management and renewable energy matters.
- Work directly with clients, managing relationships and delivering practical, commercially aware advice.
- Collaborate with Partners and colleagues in a friendly, well-connected team.
- Take on business development opportunities and play an active role in growing the department’s profile.
- Mentor junior colleagues, providing guidance on technical matters and supporting their professional development.
Your Background
- 4–8 years’ PQE, with experience in Rural or Real Estate.
- Strong technical skills and the confidence to manage complex transactions.
- A genuine enthusiasm for the Rural/Agricultural sector and the Scottish countryside.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
- Proactive, commercially minded and committed to delivering high-quality service.
