Marathon Petroleum Company is seeking a Health, Environment, Safety, Security & Product Quality (HESS&PQ) Management Systems Coordinator to join our high-performing team. This is a unique opportunity to lead strategic initiatives that shape the future of our safety and quality programs.
As part of the HESS&PQ Processes group, you'll play a key role in supporting our Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS), corporate auditing programs, and governance committees. The preferred location for this role is Findlay, Ohio, however other MPC locations may be considered.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to management and key stakeholders regarding implementation and continual improvement of OEMS.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver corporate resources to strengthen OEMS.
- Facilitate the effective integration of newly acquired assets into the OEMS framework.
- Lead OEMS and Audit Centers of Excellence to facilitate identification and sharing of best practices across MPC.
- Develop, measure, and analyze value-added metrics related to OEMS and auditing effectiveness and efficiency.
- Provide guidance and resources for evaluating process maturity and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Ability to create and lead audit and OEMS training, including Lead Auditor training.
- Able to lead HESS&PQ audits with operating component audit teams.
- Ability to Identify issues with OEMS and/or audit processes and leads cross-functional teams to create solutions.
- Assist organizations with preparation for third-party attestation audits and internal audits.
- Participate in these audits as requested.
- Partner with business units to ensure the HESS&PQ auditing process is executed effectively.
- Assist with coordination of HESS&PQ governance committees.
- Participate on the Intelex Support Team and provide Intelex audit assistance.
- Travel expected up to 25%
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's Degree in HES discipline, science, or engineering is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of related work experience required, 7 or more years preferred.
- Field operations or field HES&S experience is preferred.
- Prior management system and/or auditing experience is preferred.
- Experience with Intelex is preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
SKILLS: - Ability to collaborate with diverse groups including corporate subject matter experts, business unit HESS&PQ leadership, and field leaders.
- Builds and maintains trust with internal stakeholders, both in corporate and operating units, to facilitate process improvement.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Effective meeting facilitation while working to build consensus.
- Leverage technology to pursue opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and continual improvement.
- Consolidate information from multiple sources into reports appropriate for different audiences.

The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The worker is required to have visual acuity and be capable of operating and viewing computers and other electronic devices for extended periods of time.
