Basic Function and Distinguishing Characteristics
Under general direction, coordinates department personnel and outside contractors in the development, implementation, and completion of projects for the construction, alteration, and improvement of County buildings and facilities and ensures compliance with design specification and legal mandates.
The Capital Improvement Program Project Coordinator is a single position class distinguished by its responsibility to perform professional level project management and coordination tasks, including project planning, preparation of requests of proposals, inspection of work in progress, and supervision of the construction coordination process and personnel. The class reports to the Deputy Director Public Works Facilities Services & Capital Facilities for assignments and work review.
Education and Experience/ Licenses and Other Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in engineering, architecture, project management, planning, or a related field plus three years of increasingly responsible experience in construction project management.
A valid California Driver's License.
Supplemental Information
A valid driver's license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC § .
