The Verona Public School District, a high-achieving suburban district in Essex County, New Jersey, is seeking an exceptional educational leader to serve as School Business Administrator/Board Secretary. This is a key cabinet-level position responsible for the financial, business, and operational functions of a district with a $50 million budget, serving approximately 2,200 students across six schools.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of school district finances, including budget development, accounting, payroll, purchasing, insurance, grants, and investments.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and reporting requirements.
Supervise business office staff and operations, including transportation, food services, and facilities.
Serve as Secretary to the Board of Education, coordinating with the Superintendent in the preparation of agendas, minutes, and official documents.
Provide strategic financial leadership to support instructional priorities and long-term district goals.
Collaborate with the Superintendent and administrative team on fiscal planning and resource allocation.

Qualifications:

Valid New Jersey School Business Administrator Certificate
Demonstrated expertise in public school finance, budgeting, facilities management, and board operations
Strong knowledge of NJDOE regulations, audit requirements, and school funding laws
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Prior experience as a School Business Administrator is preferred
