Certifications: BLS, Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) via NBSTSA
Must-Have:
Must have 3 years of CST experience.
Must have experience in General and Orthopedic surgery, specifically total joints.
Prefer experience in Plastics.
Must have experience in similar size facilities including Trauma Level 3 and 4, or Critically Access Hospitals.
Description:
Department: OR
Number of Suites: 7
Average Number of Cases per Day: 5-25
Common Cases include: General surgery, orthopedic/sports medicine, plastics and cosmetics, podiatry, cataracts/eye procedures, OB/GYN/women's health (non-cancer related).
Prefer someone comfortable transitioning between scrubbing and assisting.
Shifts and Scheduling: 5 shifts per week from , with late stay rotations and on-call rotations.
Scheduling is managed by the manager, and travelers are asked to be flexible in filling gaps in permanent scheduling.
Weeknight/Call Requirements: On-call, late stay rotations, 1-2 times per week, typically Monday to Friday, with 15.5 hours of weeknight call.
Weekend/Call Requirements: On-call, 1-2 times per month, with 24-hour call shifts from Saturday and Sunday .
Holiday/Call Requirements: May be asked to participate in holiday call rotations on the day before and the day of the operating room day, as well as the day following.
If the holiday falls on a Monday or Friday, this may include the weekend before or after the holiday.
Call response time is required to be within 30 minutes.
Floating Requirements: May be required to float into scrub roles in PACU or sterile processing for assisting tasks.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Provided at the facility; scrubs cannot be worn outside. Arrive presentable to the facility.
Unit/Department specific orientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptor and 1-2 call shifts with a preceptor.
Additional Notes: This is a rural community hospital, so a wide variety of cases are performed.
