Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with prior travel and charge experience for a night shift position in Maryland, requiring compact or MD RN licensure.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- Night shifts (3x12 hours), 19:00 to 07:30
- Patient ratio is 1:4 in the department
- Caseload includes high-volume emergency departments with at least 125 patients per day
- Required to orient and work in charge roles as needed
- May come into contact with COVID-19 patients
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- RNs are expected to prioritize and manage care efficiently in a fast-paced ER environment
- Must be comfortable with minimal or no interview prior to hiring
- Scrubs must be purple, not provided
- Pre-employment and orientation modules must be completed as assigned
- RTO during a contract must not exceed 8 days, and must allow fulfillment of weekly hours
- Accepts local candidates at a lower rate if residing within 60 miles of the facility (address must match DL for local status)
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- At least 2 years of ED nursing experience required
- Minimum of 1 prior travel assignment required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Must have recent experience (within past 8 months) working in a high-volume ED
- Skills required: triage, IV starts, phlebotomy, expert multitasking and organizational ability
- Two supervisor references from within the past 2 years required
- Return staff must be separated from previous employment at MedStar for a minimum of 1 year
