Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position requiring a MA RN license and strong telemetry skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in the hospital's float pool, covering up to 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units
- Care for a diverse patient population including ED borders, acute mental health, and non-vented ICU transfer-ready patients
- Night shift from 19:00 to 07:30 with every other weekend required
- Clinician to patient ratio is up to 6:1 on nights
- Cardiac monitoring responsibilities including cardiac drips and reading tele strips
- Telemetry monitoring required every 4 hours and TR Band experience preferred
- Uses Epic for charting and documentation
- Must be willing to float between eight different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital
- Role includes providing medication in the acute mental health unit and caring for non-vented ICU transfer patients
- Parking costs may apply; public transportation options are available
- RTO must be declared at the time of application
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage may be required
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license required at the time of consideration; conditional or pending licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
- Minimum two years of acute care hospital experience preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, and interpreting tele strips
- TR Band experience preferred
- Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations required with no exemptions allowed
