Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position with LDRP experience, night shifts, and regional floating requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 29-bed Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit with an annual volume of approximately 1500 patients
- Unit features an LDRP model and includes 1 OR suite
- Care for high-risk OB cases such as postpartum hemorrhage, diabetics requiring insulin infusions, PROM, and placenta previa, as well as GYN surgical patients
- Acuity-based RN patient ratios
- 12-hour night shifts (1900-0700) with every other weekend rotation
- Required to work 75% of holidays
- No on-call or call-back responsibilities
- Floating required across multiple facilities within the designated region and within scope of practice
- Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, GE Corometrics fetal monitors, and GE Panda Warmers
- Will work closely with OB technicians, CNAs, receptionists, charge nurse, case managers, respiratory therapists, and in-house OB physicians and pediatricians
- No remote telemetry monitoring is involved
- Free parking is provided
- Navy blue scrubs or business casual attire required to and from work, with hospital-issued scrubs worn while on shift
- Time off requests up to 6 days are allowed, excluding holidays, with additional days added to the contract as needed
- If required to float mid-shift to another facility, time traveling will be considered paid working hours
Requirements
- Active RN license required, with at least 2 years of recent LDRP experience
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM
- Ability to circulate c-sections and provide comprehensive newborn care including heel sticks, 24-hour testing, NAS scoring, and lactation support
- Experience with all aspects of LDRP patient care required
- Must be able to float to all facilities within the assigned region
- NCC-EFM or RNC-OB certifications preferred
- Travelers' permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the home unit
- This position does not accept first-time travelers
