Job description
We are seeking an EXPERIENCED Personal Injury Attorney to join us! On this new adventure you will get the opportunity to work directly with clients and a fair amount of autonomy. You will not be regulated to the same repetitive task handed down by a partner over and over. You will mostly handle motor vehicle accidents; however, we do take on other personal injury matters including construction accidents, slip and falls, etc. Knowledge or prior experience with Workers' Compensation a plus!
Responsibilities:
Interview, intake and qualify potential cases/clients
Develop case specific strategies tailored to achieving specific outcomes
Work with remote support team leveraging technology
Negotiate with insurance companies to secure favorable settlements
Review medical records to formulate demands
Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, 50H hearings, and EUO's
Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
Comply with all legal standards and regulations
Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
Qualifications:
5+ years of personal injury experience as an attorney (additional workers compensation experience is a plus)
Bilingual with fluency in English and Spanish preferred but not required
Admitted to New York Bar (NJ admission a plus)
Strong organizational and follow-up skills
Strong written communication skills
Draft legal documents (complaints, pleadings, BP's, motions, etc)
Ability to build rapport with clients is critical
Must be self-motivated and self-disciplined and take ownership of caseload
Must possess high-level technology skills to quickly learn and effectively utilize various platforms and tools (Filevine, RingCentral, etc.)
This is an IN PERSON work position for our Queens location although we are planning to open an additional office in Nassau or Bronx. Some travel will be required within the 5 boroughs and Long Island on an as needed basis.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
