**Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) - 12-Hour Night Shift**
**Job Description:**
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a 16-week assignment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in a similar size emergency department with trauma level 1 or 2 experience. This position involves working 12-hour night shifts, from 7 PM to 7 AM, including every other weekend.
**Job Responsibilities:**
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
- Assess and triage patients based on the severity of their conditions.
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and assist with diagnostic tests as required.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department experience in a comparable facility.
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and trauma certification (ATCN/TNCC/ATLC) required.
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system is highly preferred.
- Active Virginia or Compact RN license is required at the time of submission.
- All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application.
**Additional Information:**
- This position allows for the potential of cancellation up to 36 hours prior to an assignment due to patient census.
- Orientation begins every other Monday, and local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible for this position.
- The assignment start dates are September 8 and September 22.
