Job Description: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER)

Facility: University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton
Location: Easton, MD 21601
Duration: 20–26 weeks

Shift: Rotating 3x12s – Evenings (15:00 – 03:30) & Nights (19:00 – 07:30) / Every other weekend required

Job Requirements

License: Active MD or Compact RN license required at submission
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER RN experience
- Previous Charge Nurse experience required
- First-time travelers accepted with strong skillset
Certifications (AHA Only):
- Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
- Preferred: NRP, TNCC
- CPI: Required – Calm Every Storm version (provided on-site during onboarding)

Skills & Proficiencies

Patient Types: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Common Diagnoses: Abdominal pain, asthma, hyperglycemia, infections, seizures, psychiatric emergencies
Emergency Care:
- STEMI/Stroke Certified Facility
- General Emergency Department – Combined Adult/Pedi
- Trauma Level not specified (Not Level I or II)
Procedures/Equipment:
- IV therapy, central line care, blood product administration
- Ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation
- Procedural sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors
Behavioral Health:
- Acute psychosis, overdose, suicidal ideation, psychiatric hold
Cardiac Monitoring:
- 12-lead EKG, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Professional Practices:
- Triage, splinting, isolation precautions
