Senior Field Layout Coordinator - Field Solutions

Position Summary:
The Senior Field Layout Coordinator leads all field layout operations with a focus on strategic
planning, operational excellence, and quality control. This role bridges the gap between digital
models and field execution, managing technology integration, developing layout standards,
mentoring junior coordinators, and ensuring adherence to safety, accuracy, and efficiency
benchmarks.
Key Job Functions:
Team Leadership & Development:

Supervise Field Layout Coordinators and drive high team performance
Conduct field audits and training to raise layout quality and competency
Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and collaboration

Strategic Oversight of Layout Operations:

Own layout workflows from model review to as-built documentation
Align field execution with constructability and design requirements

Technology & Process Optimization:

Evaluate and implement robotic total stations, GNSS, and layout software
Standardize and improve layout workflows and control point setup

Cross-Department Collaboration:

Act as the layout liaison for PMs, Superintendents, BIM Coordinators, and Surveyors
Provide field perspective during BIM/VDC coordination

Quality & Compliance Leadership:

Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed for dimensional accuracy
Enforce compliance with project specs and internal layout standards

Equipment & Resource Management:

Manage layout equipment calibration and readiness
Advise on tool procurement and software needs

GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System)
Navisworks
Bluebeam
Laser Scanners
ACC

Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge:

7+ years in field layout or construction tech roles, with leadership experience
Advanced knowledge of layout workflows and VDC integration
Certification or education in surveying or construction layout preferred
