Shift Information
Schedule: Weekend (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM) - Saturday, Sunday, and Monday Evenings
Contract Duration: 90 Weeks
Job Summary
The MRI Technologist performs imaging procedures at a technical level and is qualified to provide care for patients within specific age ranges in their assigned clinical area.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the Magnetic Resonance imaging process and enforce safety protocols within the Magnetic Resonance environment.
- Provide protection to patients and personnel according to prescribed safety standards.
- Prepare and position patients for Magnetic Resonance procedures while explaining the exams and addressing any questions.
- Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures including neuro, body, and extremity protocols as established by a Radiologist.
- Administer venous access for patients requiring IV contrast as directed by a Radiologist.
- Enter necessary data into the Radiology Imaging System, IDX Imaging Suite, and Picture Archive Communication System (PACS).
- Process images and conduct quality control tests of equipment, promptly reporting any irregularities.
- Notify the Team Leader and maintenance personnel of any equipment malfunctions.
- Share responsibilities for ordering supplies and notify appropriate personnel regarding supply levels.
- Act as a Radiology liaison and provide radiological support to physicians as required.
- Prepare and manage imaging exams and procedure tray set up, involving access and handling of non-controlled medications.
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and job-specific obligations.
Qualifications
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required).
- Basic Life Support Certification from an authorized issuer.
- Certification as an MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Certification as a Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
