Position Description The
Administrator of Elections (Administrator) is the chief administrative officer of the Davidson County Election Commission (DCEC) and is responsible for the execution of all elections and directing the daily operation of the Commission. The Administrator is the primary spokesperson for the DCEC in communicating with voters, government officials, the media, and other organizations interested in the electoral process. This position is hired by and serves at the pleasure of the five Davidson County Election Commissioners who are appointed for two-year terms by the State Election Commission. The Administrator has management responsibility for the DCEC staff consisting of 23 full-time employees and approximately 1,600 Poll Officials who perform a variety of roles during elections.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of supervisory experience

A combination of education and supervisory experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Within six months, the newly-hired Administrator shall become a Certified Administrator of Elections in Tennessee by successfully completing the State-administered test. Successful completion of the test will result in an annual salary of $162,000.

- Organizational management, supervisory, budgetary, and personnel management experience in a leadership role
- Strong written, public speaking, and interpersonal communication skills
- Working knowledge of the governmental organization and functions of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County and the State of Tennessee
- Proficient in commonly-used Microsoft Office products
- Experience with public elections
