Position Overview:
3South is a Med/Surg Telemetry Certified Stroke Center and a Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). While most patients have neuro-related diagnoses, 3S also serves as a telemetry overflow unit for other patient populations, allowing the nurse to utilize skills beyond neuro.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Neurology experience required
- MS/Tele experience required
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- Basic EKG testing provided through Prophecy Relias, must be completed prior to orientation
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Valid Maryland or Compact license required at submission
- References required

Work Settings & Patient Diagnoses:
- Cardiac Telemetry, MS/Tele, Neuro Stepdown*, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown*, Telemetry, Respiratory
- Patient Diagnoses: CVA, Epilepsy, Ischemic Stroke, Radiculopathy, Cervical Stenosis, Seizures, Rhabdomyolysis, S/P Laminectomy, S/P ACDF, S/P Craniotomy, ETOH withdrawal
- Medical Surgical with and without Telemetry
Staffing & Scheduling:
- Patient Ratios: 1:5 (Days, Nights, Weekends)
- Float Required: Yes (to M/S and M/S Tele)
- Weekend Coverage: Every Other
- Orientation: 40 hours

Additional Information:
- Candidates may float within the facility within scope
- Radiology may float to affiliate hospital nearby
- Separation Policy: No traveler may work on assignment for more than 365 days continuously; a six-month separation is required before returning as a traveler
