Focus: The Sr. DeltaV Batch Associate is responsible for driving global value through the strategic use of the DeltaV Process Automation platform, with a focus on batch code development and safety system support to optimize technology utilization. It leads coordination across capital projects, Process Technology Centers, plants, and the PA Technology Center. The position serves as Olin's global expert in DeltaV batch code and is responsible for retaining, leveraging, and advancing Process Automation technologies and best practices worldwide. It provides strategic direction to plant PA teams in alignment with the Global PA Technology Plan. The scope of the role includes software management for approximately 16,000 input/output signals across five plants globally.
Sr. DeltaV Batch Associate Essential Responsibilities: - Owns, develops and maintains fundamental standards, work process, tools and documentation for the DeltaV platform.
- Defines strategy for batch code structure and batch module library management (incl version upgrade and recipe management)
- Provides expert knowledge & advanced technology training for SMEs, maintains corporate memory and guides/mentors Level-1 plant teams.
- Leads advanced Level-2 troubleshooting efforts, RCAs and acts as Functional Safety Engineer for the platform.
- Engages with other teams and OEMs to identify and support productivity opportunities.
- Keeps up with new external technology developments and defines associated Olin strategy. Technical Interface to 3rd party experts as client representative.
Sr. DeltaV Batch Associate Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree* in a scientific or engineering discipline; chemical engineering or process automation-related discipline preferred.
- 12 years of relevant process automation, manufacturing or improvement experience.
- In-depth expert knowledge of DeltaV platform (hardware and software), Olin's DeltaV batch module library, tools for the Mod5 Migration program, control strategy and general process control design, MES graphics, and experience with continuous and batch plants.
- Experience as a PA Lead for capital projects.
- Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills across businesses, functions, organizational layers, cultures and companies.
- Proven ability to work under general direction and broad practices with complex tasks of non-routine character.
- Excellent judgment and calculated risk-taking abilities.
- Experience with network technology, AspenTech IP21 applications, interfaces to 3rd Party Devices (Bently-Nevada, LIMS, etc.), or PLCs preferred
*Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
