- Position: Exercise Physiologist-Resource .
- Location: Highland Park Hospital
- Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem, as needed
- Hours: Monday-Friday, Days
- Required Travel: High Park Hospital base, rotate to north suburban/Lake County locations
What you will do:- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' cardiovascular fitness, including exercise tolerance, strength, flexibility, and overall physical condition.
- Develop individualized exercise plans based on patients' medical history, clinical data, and rehabilitation goals.
- Lead and supervise exercise sessions for patients in the cardiac rehabilitation program, ensuring safety and proper technique.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and responses to exercise during sessions, making adjustments as needed.
- Educate patients on cardiovascular disease risk factors, lifestyle modifications, and the importance of adherence to exercise programs.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and progress.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting assessments, progress, and any changes in treatment plans.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in exercise physiology and cardiac rehabilitation to provide evidence-based care.
- Assist in the development of educational materials and resources for patients and their families.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and program development to enhance the effectiveness of the cardiac rehabilitation program.
What you will need:- Education: Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology, Masters preferred
- Certification: CPR or BLS - American Heart Association (AHA) Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Required , ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Certification as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) preferred
- Experience: 1 Year of experience in a multi-phase cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program, including developing exercise prescription
