A Snapshot of Your Day
In this position as an electrical design engineer at Siemens Energy,
you will start your day/week with a team stand-up meeting to discuss ongoing
projects and any challenges that may arise. Engage in compose reviews to ensure
alignment with global electrical standards, then refine electromechanical
innovations in CAD. You’ll conduct calculations and simulations to validate
design performance and engage clients to discuss project requirements and
provide updates on progress. You’ll prepare and update technical documentation,
including design specifications and compliance checklists, before wrapping up
your day by reviewing tasks and ensuring all communications are addressed.
Throughout your day, collaboration with cross-functional teams will be
essential as you work to effectively integrate solutions across different
verticals.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Provide engineering support for Sales, Project Management,
Manufacturing, Field Service and Quality Assurance groups from sales through
execution, commissioning, and service.
- Develop new electrical and mechanical designs and standardize them for
use across our engineering team, where appropriate
- Collaborate with electrical and automation engineers to prepare
project-specific drawing packages.
- Technically approve internal and external subcontractor products related
to developed designs and solutions to ensure industry and customer requirements
are satisfied.
What You Bring
- BS Engineering required in relevant field (Electrical or Mechatronics
preferred)
- 4+ year electrical design with drafting, design, or technical
engineering for heavy industrial plants. Experience designing medium and low
voltage power distribution equipment required.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical codes, such as NEC, IEC, NEMA, NFPA
70, NFPA 79, UL.
- Tested proficiency with the following modeling software: EPLAN, AutoCAD
2D/3D, AutoCAD Electrical.
- Technical
Expertise: Ability to read schematics and interpret customer specifications;
experience in configuring Medium and Low Voltage switchgear/switchboards under
UL or IEC standards.
- Professional
Skills: Strong organizational and time management abilities; excellent verbal
and written communication in English.
