Job Title: MT/MLT
Location: Bethel, AK 99559
Shift: Variable - 8 hour shifts, days, evenings, or nights
Travel Pay Rate: $2466 weekly ($16.50/hr on W2 + $1806/week stipend)
Local Pay Rate: $55.75 per hour on W2
Position Summary:
- Housing provided and airfare reimbursed.
- Minimum 2+ years of Medical Laboratory experience.
- Under the direction of the laboratory manager, is responsible for performing laboratory tests, quality control procedures and communication with physicians, nurses and patients.
- Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or a related filed required.
- Must be board eligible by NCA or ASCP and complete board certification within one year of employment
- One to three years of related or progressively more responsible experience in chemistry, blood bank, hematology and microbiology or formal student internship
- Certification at MT by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) within one year of employment

- Must be capable of working independently and providing direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing biological samples for testing, including tissue, blood, urine, spinal fluid, and gastric juices.
- Performing serological, bacteriological, biochemical, hematological, and microbiological examinations on samples.
- Conducting blood group, type, and compatibility tests, as well as full blood counts.
- Counting the cells in prepared samples, as wells as microorganisms, including bacteria or parasites.
- Analyzing biochemical composition and determining the presence of drug chemicals.
- Determining whether sample parameters fall within normal ranges and identifying abnormalities.
- Summarizing results and reporting findings in electronic format to referring physicians and medical specialists, as well as collaborating on patient care
Required Qualifications:
- Certification at MT by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), BLS AHA)
